NBA Fast Break Run 7 | Day 14

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 125 Points Scored to earn your win.

Recap & Overview:

We’ve officially reached the final day of Run 7, which turned out to be challenging on a few days. The only person who had no trouble this run was maffu and they’re perfect through the first 13 days of this run and the $5,000 Top Shot Credit prize is theirs to lose going into the final day (including the only perfect pack). The remaining 24 spots for run-based rewards will most likely be limited to Fast Breakers who have at least 12 wins to date. Run 8 has been opened and Dapper has taken feedback to heart and have expanded both the daily and the run-based rewards to a larger pool of participants. The higher you place, the more you earn - out of 435 daily and 1,500 overall. In many people’s eyes, something is better than nothing and there’s a lot of Top Shot Credit to go around. Keep in mind though, this run will have two Paris games which limits both Indiana and San Antonio to three (3) games apiece and there are three days where there are less than 10 teams in action.

As for yesterday’s recap, Trae Young was your Fast Break Stud of the Day as he delivered 11 assists and sank 3 three pointers. Of the five most utilized players (Curry, Trae, Garland, Haliburton, & Jones), none fell short of expectations and contributed in varying ways which means none fell into the Fast Break Dud of the Day category. With 66% of participants earning a win, their performance was appreciated. Honorable mention goes to Jordan Poole who sank eight (8) three pointers by himself. Ride that momentum into the final day of this series and come back tomorrow for Fast Break Run 8 Day 1 projections.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 14 requires five (5) players who will score 125.0 or more points, which means your lineup will need to average 25.0 PTS per player. These types of days are as straightforward as they come, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re easy. Today for example, there is only one (1) player who is averaging over the minimum threshold AND projected to do so again today and that’s your leading NBA MVP candidate (SGA).

  • High Volume Scorers: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Tyrese Maxey

  • Top Five (5) Players in FB Lineups: SGA (73%), D. Fox (70%), P. Banchero (32%), D. DeRozan (31%), L. James (28%)

Looking Ahead:

  • Run 8 kicks off tomorrow and Day 1 require 20 assists & 15 three pointers made

Considerations:

  • Orlando & Portland are playing the tail end of a back-to-back

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected points scored made according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 7 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

We broke the streak and earned our 7th win of this series! The final day of this run is more of a formality at this point, but we are seeking a win for the sake of momentum into Run 8. Joel Embiid is a mainstay on the injured list, so we’ll be prepared to swap as needed. Also, the Run 8 plan will be posted in tomorrow’s article.
