NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 5 | Day 4
Knicks Storm Vegas, Claim First NBA Cup
NBA Recap: December 16, 2025
The New York Knicks finally have fresh hardware to hang beside their lone 1973 championship banner. Knicks fans finally have something to celebrate as they rallied past the San Antonio Spurs 124–113 in Las Vegas to capture their first NBA Cup. OG Anunoby led the charge with 28 points, while Jalen Brunson added 25 and earned NBA Cup MVP honors. The Knicks outscored San Antonio 35–19 in the fourth quarter, flipping a game they trailed through much of the middle frames.
For the Spurs, having seven players in double figures wasn’t enough to stave off New York’s late surge. Rookie guard Dylan Harper chipped in 21 points and Stephon Castle dished 12 assists, but San Antonio’s offense sputtered in crunch time. The Knicks’ Villanova trio—Brunson, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges—showed their championship DNA, delivering the kind of poise that turned a showcase into a statement. With Karl-Anthony Towns anchoring the paint (16 points, 11 boards), New York looked every bit like a team ready to parlay Cup success into postseason glory — especially out of a weaker Eastern Conference that’s ripe for the taking.
