Spurs Snap Thunder’s Win Streak, Knicks Knock Out Magic

NBA Recap: December 13, 2025

The NBA Cup semifinals in Las Vegas delivered two very different stories. The Knicks punched their ticket to the final with a 132–120 win over the Magic. Jalen Brunson was electric, dropping 40 points on 16-of-27 shooting while adding eight assists. Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in 29 on hyper-efficient shooting, and OG Anunoby added 24. Orlando, who were missing Franz Wagner due to a high ankle sprain, couldn’t match New York’s firepower even though all five starters scored in double digits.

The nightcap flipped expectations. The Spurs stunned the Thunder 111–109, overcoming OKC’s 79% win probability entering the matchup. Wemby returned after a long hiatus due to injury and was on a minutes limit, but he still made his presence felt throughout the contest. San Antonio and Oklahoma City would only be separated by three points at the half and the remainder of the contest was a back-and-forth battle. The Spurs would ultimately prevail as they leaned on balanced scoring and late-game execution to silence the Thunder’s surge. For a young Spurs team, this was a defining moment—proof that Oklahoma City is not unbeatable and that they are contenders in the West.
