NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 4 | Day 5
Edgecombe’s Tip-In, Maxey’s Chase Down, LeBron’s Snapped Record, & Boston’s Rout
NBA Recap: December 4, 2025
December 4 delivered a slate of NBA drama, headlined by Philadelphia’s razor-thin 99–98 win over Golden State. Rookie VJ Edgecombe’s clutch tip-in with under a second left, followed by Tyrese Maxey’s emphatic game-saving block, capped a wild finish where the Sixers nearly squandered a 24-point lead. Maxey poured in 35, while Joel Embiid returned with 12 points, steadying Philly against a Warriors squad missing Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. In Washington, Boston dismantled the Wizards 146–101 behind Derrick White’s season-high 30 and Jordan Walsh’s career-best 22. The Celtics, even without Jaylen Brown, showcased depth and pace, handing Washington its worst loss of the season.
Elsewhere, the Timberwolves flexed late to outlast the Pelicans 125–116, riding a 37-point fourth quarter surge to improve to 14–8. The Lakers edged Toronto 123–120 in a tight contest at Scotiabank Arena, while Utah’s balanced attack carried them past Brooklyn 123–110. Each result underscored the shifting December rhythms: contenders like Boston and Minnesota asserting control, while teams like New Orleans and Washington continue to spiral.
Fast Break Recap: Day 4
Pro mode had another rough day as only 37% earned a win (but higher than the previous day). Similar to Day 3, both Classic and Historic had a positive day as the former saw 80% winners and the latter saw 96% winners. Although LeBron snapped his double digit scoring streak, he came through in yesterday’s objective for 85% of collectors as he delivered 11 assists minus turnovers. With his performance, he earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day.
Tyrese Maxey, on the other hand, saved the game on a chase down block, but he had a -1 AST-TO, which earned him the Fast Break Dud of the Day award.
Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 5 of 13
Objective(s): 15 Three Pointers Made & 25 Three Point Attempts (3.0 3PM & 5.0 3PA)
You’ll need five (5) players who will make 15 or more and take 25 or more three pointers, which means each player will need to average 3.0 3PM & 5.0 3PA. There are 24 teams in action today, so your options are expansive. The former objective will determine whether you win and the latter will help you rise in the rankings. A captain that can be additive in both categories will be the difference.
Top Player Options:
Outside Snipers: Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, Luka Doncic, Tyrese Maxey
Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: J. Harden (72%) | D. Mitchell (61%) | G. Allen (51%) | J. Murray (38%) | A. Green (34%)
Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:
Objectives remaining (after today):
2x: FGM, FGA, AST
1x: PITP, OREB, STL, PTS, REB, 3PM, 3PA
Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 50 Points in the Paint & 12 Offensive Rebounds (10.0 PITP & 2.4 OREB)
Considerations:
Houston & Philadelphia have the least number of games remaining (3)
LA Lakers, Miami, New York, Orlando, San Antonio, & Toronto could have an extra game if they win their first NBA Cup matchup
Phoenix has the most potential number of games remaining (7) if they win their next NBA Cup match
The four teams playing on Day 13 will depend on the results of Day 9’s NBA Cup results
The only day this run with more than 20 teams in action is Day 5 (today)
Day 8-11 & 13 have less than 8 or less teams in action, so your player options are more limited
