NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 3 | Day 6

Thunder roll past Jazz, Nets stun Celtics, Heat torch Bulls

NBA Recap: November 21, 2025

Friday’s NBA Cup slate delivered nine games filled with drama and decisive finishes. The Thunder continued their dominance, dismantling the Jazz 144–112 in Salt Lake City behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 31 points. In Phoenix, Collin Gillespie hit a go-ahead jumper with 6.4 seconds left to lift the Suns past the Timberwolves 114–113, spoiling Anthony Edwards’ 41-point night. At Chase Center, the Trail Blazers erased a late deficit to shock the Warriors 127–123, snapping Golden State’s home momentum.

In Dallas, rookie Cooper Flagg scored a career-high 29 points and Naji Marshall buried a clutch three in the final 30 seconds as the Mavericks edged the Pelicans 118–115. The Nuggets held off the Rockets 112–109, while the Heat torched the Bulls 143–107, riding a barrage of threes and transition buckets. Cleveland took care of the cellar dwellar Pacers 120–109, and Toronto manhandled Washington 140–110, continuing their strong stretch of play.

The night underscored the intensity of NBA Cup action—close finishes, blowout scores, statement wins, and a growing injury toll across the league. With stars like Giannis, Wemby, and Sabonis sidelined, rotations are tightening and relying heavily on rotation players to step up to survive a brutal start to the season.

NBA Fast Break Recap: Day 5

Classic Day 5 was the best thus far for Classic as 92% walked away happy, but the same can’t be said about Pro as only 10% earned a win. Historic was down the middle as 51% of collectors were victorious. In Classic, SGA was the most utilized player (79% of lineups) and he delivered 31 points in 30 minutes of a blowout victory. Steph Curry, however, scored 38 points in a narrow loss to Portland to snipe the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.

On the other end of the blowout loss to OKC was Utah where Lauri Markkenen was the 2nd most utilized player, but could only score 19 points, which fell short of the needed average and earned him the Fast Break Dud of the Day award.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 6 of 13

Objective(s): 6 Blocks & 6 Steals (1.2 BLK & 1.2 STL)

You’ll need five (5) players who will accumulate 6.0 or more blocks and 6.0 or more steals, which means each player will need to average 1.2 BLK & 1.2 STL. These days have proven to be difficult if you don’t have players who can deliver in both categories as your captain. Beyond that slot, many collectors opt to lean on specialists to maximize their chances, but the outcome continues to be mixed on any given night. Should the highly utilized players excel, the win percentage will be high also. Conversely, if the most utilized players fail to deliver, so will the win percentage.

Top Player Options:

  • Little of Both: Myles Turner

  • Shot Blockers: Ryan Kalkbrenner, Alex Sarr, Myles Turner

  • Pro Thieves: Ausar Thompson, Kris Dunn, Nikola Jokic, Daniss Jenkins

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: M. Bridges (77%) | M. Turner (77%) | D. Gafford (44%) | I. Stewart (44%) | D. Daniels (35%)

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Objectives remaining (after today): FGM, FGA, PITP, OREB, AST-TO, AST, 3PM, 3PA, REB, PTS, BLK

  • Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 45 Field Goals Made & 55 Field Goal Attempts (9.0 FGM & 11.0 FGA)

Considerations:

  • Golden State, Houston, & Washington have the fewest remaining games (3)

  • Eleven (11) teams have the most remaining games (5)

  • The always challenging AST-TO objective lands on Day 10

  • Day 9 only has six teams in action, which means the least flexibility

  • Day 8 & 11 have more than 20 teams in action, which means the most flexibility

  • There are no games scheduled on November 27th

  • There is one less day this run (13) than in the previous (14), but the run-based thresholds are the same (4, 7, & 11)

Statistical Approach:

Top players in blocks & steals according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ members, all active player stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Witty’s Fast Break Challenge:

In NBA Fast Break, how often you can use a player depends on the value of their moments—measured by average sale price. That system can put newer and/or smaller collectors at a disadvantage, limiting their ability to compete. This segment is designed to level the playing field, giving resourceful collectors a shot at rewards and proving that smart strategy can still win, even without a stacked collection.
