NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 3 | Day 5

Maxey’s Career Night, Grizzlies Snap Skid, Spurs Keep Rolling

NBA Recap: November 20, 2025

Thursday’s slate was headlined by Tyrese Maxey, who erupted for a career-high 54 points to carry the 76ers past the Bucks 123–114 in overtime. Maxey tied the game with clutch free throws in regulation and then buried Milwaukee in the extra frame, outshining Ryan Rollins’s 32-point, 14-assist effort.

In Memphis, the Grizzlies snapped a five-game losing streak with a dominant 137–96 win over the Kings. Santi Aldama poured in 29 points, Jock Landale added 21, and rookie Zach Edey chipped in 16 as Memphis built a 28-point halftime lead and never looked back. The Kings, now losers of eight straight, were without Domantas Sabonis after an MRI revealed a partial meniscus tear which will sideline him for 3-4 weeks, further highlighting the league’s growing injury toll.

The Spurs continued their strong start, outlasting Jalen Johnson and the Hawks 135–126 behind balanced scoring (six Spurs in double figures) and late-game execution. In Orlando, the Magic rolled the Clippers 129–101, with six players in double figures. With the growing number of injuries, the continued playbook for success is depth as seen in both San Antonio and Orlando, among other teams.

NBA Fast Break Recap: Day 4

Classic Day 4 toed the line as exactly half the Fast Break participants earned a win. If you had Zubac as your captain, he gave you a head-turning 29 rebounds, which would have accounted for 64% of the required objective. As he was utilized in 47% of lineups (5th highest), he earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.

Although no player in the top five delivered less than 7 rebounds, Okongwu was the lowest of the top five and fell below the required average needed to earn a win. With that said, he is your Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 5 of 13

Objective(s): 125 Points Scored (25.0 PTS)

You’ll need five (5) players who will score 125 or more points, which means each player will need to average 25.0 PTS. The scoring threshold isn’t high relative to the players who are in action today, but wasting your top options will have downstream ramifications based on your collection.

Top Player Options:

  • Point Scorers: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: S. Gilgeous-Alexander (80%) | L. Markkanen (68%) | J. Brown (64%) | N. Jokic (46%) | D. Booker (35%)

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Objectives remaining (after today):

    • 2x: BLK

    • 1x: STL, FGM, FGA, PITP, OREB, AST-TO, AST, 3PM, 3PA, REB, PTS

  • Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 6 Blocks & 6 Steals (1.2 BLK & 1.2 STL)

Considerations:

  • Seven (7) teams have the fewest remaining games (4)

  • New Orleans, Phoenix, & Toronto have the most remaining games (6)

  • The always challenging AST-TO objective lands on Day 10

  • Day 9 only has six teams in action, which means the least flexibility

  • Day 8 & 11 have more than 20 teams in action, which means the most flexibility

  • There are no games scheduled on November 27th

  • There is one less day this run (13) than in the previous (14), but the run-based thresholds are the same (4, 7, & 11)

Statistical Approach:

Top players in points scored according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 average, and season averages, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ members, all active player stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Witty’s Fast Break Challenge:

In NBA Fast Break, how often you can use a player depends on the value of their moments—measured by average sale price. That system can put newer and/or smaller collectors at a disadvantage, limiting their ability to compete. This segment is designed to level the playing field, giving resourceful collectors a shot at rewards and proving that smart strategy can still win, even without a stacked collection.
