NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 3 | Day 3

Pistons Win 11th Straight, LeBron Delivers in Debut, Spurs Win Without Wemby

NBA Recap: November 18, 2025

The Pistons extended their win streak to 11 games, topping the Hawks 120–112 on the road to improve to 13–2, the best record in the East. Detroit leaned on its depth and late-game execution, continuing one of the most surprising early-season runs in recent memory. The win marks their longest streak since 2004, and they’ve now beaten Atlanta twice in eight days.

In Los Angeles, LeBron James rejoined the Lakers in their 140–126 win over the Jazz, scoring efficiently and orchestrating the offense in his 23rd NBA season. The Lakers poured in 67 first half points, setting the tone early and erasing the deficit in the third quarter. Austin Reaves and Deandre Ayton provided strong support, while Utah struggled to contain the Lakers’ transition game.

Elsewhere, the Celtics clamped down defensively to beat the Nets 113–99, Phoenix surged past Portland 127–110 behind 19 points apiece from Devin Booker and Collin Gillespie, and the Magic outlasted the Warriors 121–113. The Spurs overcame a slow start to defeat the Grizzlies 111–101, despite missing Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. Another day where depth proved relevant.

NBA Fast Break Recap: Day 2

Day 2 proved challenging as only 10% earned a win. There were initial questions as to whether Cade Cunningham would be available and by the time he was confirmed active, most lineups had omitted him. Had you started Luka Doncic (especially as your captain), you would have had 10 or 15 assists, which would have covered 25% or 38% of the required objective. As he was the most utilized player yesterday, Luka earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.

On the other hand, De’Aaron Fox was too busy scoring for a depleted Spurs team who was without Wemby & Castle to distribute the ball. As he was the second most utilized player (76%), his three assists were crippling to most lineups. With his poor showing on the distribution side, he earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day award.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 3 of 13

Objective(s): 15 Three Pointers Made & 25 Three Point Attempts (3.0 3PM & 5.0 3PA)

You’ll need five (5) players who will make 15+ and take 25+ or more three pointers, which means each player will need to average 3.0 3PM & 5.0 3PA. Although there are more teams in action today, there are only a handful of players who consistently make more than two three pointers. Steph is the one everyone will include in their lineup, but there are a few others who are worth considering for your captain slot. Like the past two days, your captain could very well make or break your win probability.

Top Player Options:

  • Outside Snipers: Steph Curry, Tyrese Maxey, Donovan Mitchell, Anthony Edwards

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: S. Curry (91%) | D. Mitchell (78%) | T. Maxey (65%) | L. Ball (63%) | M. Bridges (50%)

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Objectives remaining (after today):

    • 2x: REB, PTS, BLK

    • 1x: STL, FGM, FGA, PITP, OREB, AST-TO, AST, 3PM, 3PA

  • Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 45 Rebounds (9.0 REB)

Considerations:

  • LA Lakers have the fewest remaining games (4)

  • New Orleans, Sacramento, & Toronto have the most remaining games (7)

  • The always challenging AST-TO objective lands on Day 10

  • Day 4 (tomorrow) & 9 have less than 10 teams in action, which means least flexibility

  • Day 8 & 11 have more than 20 teams in action, which means most flexibility

  • There are no games scheduled on November 27th

  • There is one less day this run (13) than in the previous (14), but the run-based thresholds are the same (4, 7, & 11)

Statistical Approach:

Top players in three pointers made & three point attempts according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 average, and season averages, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ members, all active player stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Witty’s Fast Break Challenge:

In NBA Fast Break, how often you can use a player depends on the value of their moments—measured by average sale price. That system can put newer and/or smaller collectors at a disadvantage, limiting their ability to compete. This segment is designed to level the playing field, giving resourceful collectors a shot at rewards and proving that smart strategy can still win, even without a stacked collection.
