NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 2 | Day 2

Triple-Doubles, Winless Woes, and a Boston Slip-Up

NBA Recap: November 3, 2025

Julius Randle made Barclays Center his playground Monday night, recording his 15th career triple-double—and first as a Timberwolf—with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in Minnesota’s 125–109 win over the winless Nets. Donte DiVincenzo and Jaden McDaniels combined for 47 points, while Rudy Gobert anchored the paint with 15 and 12. Brooklyn, now 0–7, saw Cam Thomas drop 25, but the team’s defensive woes continue to mount.

Out west, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder steamrolled the Pelicans 137–106, improving to a league-best 7–0. OKC’s offense was relentless, and New Orleans—still winless—had no answers. In Denver, the Nuggets edged the Kings 130–124 behind a late surge, while the Lakers stayed hot with a 123–115 win over Portland, which was surprising considering LeBron, Luka, and Reaves were all sidelined.

Elsewhere, the Rockets continued their strong play behind 20+ points from Durant, Sengun, & Thompson and toppled the Mavericks 110–102. Also, the Jazz pulled off a gritty win in Boston, beating the Celtics 105–103 despite long odds. Meanwhile, the Pistons outlasted the Grizzlies 114–106 in Memphis, and the Heat eked out a 120–119 win over the Clippers at the Intuit Dome.

Yesterday’s slate delivered a full spectrum of NBA drama: triple-doubles, win streaks, and a few teams still searching for their first taste of victory.

NBA Fast Break Results: Day 1

A rough start to the new run as only 27% of collectors earned a win yesterday. Donte DiVincenzo saw the 5th highest utilization (33%) and delivered for his lineups as he shot 6 of 13 from outside. If you had him as your captain, that number would’ve ballooned to 9 of 20, which would’ve covered 60% of the makes. With his performance, he earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.

On the other hand, Zach LaVine saw the second highest utilization rate (59%), but could only muster 1 of 5 from outside. With his lackluster performance, he earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day award. Lauri & OG weren’t much better (1st & 3rd highest utilization) as they could only make two three pointers apiece.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 2 of 14

Objective(s): 30 Assists & 5 Steals (6.0 AST & 1.0 STL)

You’ll need five (5) players who will accumulate 30 or more assists and 5 or more steals, which means each player will need to average 6.0 AST & 1.0 STL. The two objectives are not correlated, but there are a handful of players who have the projections (and history) of delivering on both. Alternatively, you can take a moneyball approach and utilize specialists in either category or mix it up based on your remaining players.

Top Player Options:

  • Little of Both: LaMelo Ball, James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo

  • Distributors: Josh Giddey, LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Maxey, James Harden

  • Thieves: Jordan Goodwin, Dyson Daniels, Ryan Rollins, Kawhi Leonard, Kris Dunn, Cason Wallace, Jimmy Butler, Scottie Barnes, Alex Caruso, Brandin Podziemski

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: J. Harden (76%) | T. Maxey (72%) | J. Giddey (67%) | T. Jones (39%) | I. Quickley (38%)

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Objectives remaining (after today):

    • 2x: PITP, OREB, FGM, FGA, PTS, REB, BLK

    • 1x: 3PM, 3PA, AST-TO, AST, STL

  • Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 50 Points in the Paint & 12 Offensive Rebounds (10.0 PITP & 2.4 OREB)

Considerations:

  • Golden State has the most games remaining (8)

  • New York has the least remaining games (6)

  • There are only two (2) teams in action on Day 4, so set this lineup first to avoid finding yourself in a tough spot

  • Day 11 & 13 also have 10 or less teams in action, so lineup options are more limited

  • Day 3 (tomorrow), 5, & 10 have 20 or more teams in action, so there is more flexibility with your lineup options

  • The always volatile & challenging AST-TO takes place on Day 13

Statistical Approach:

Top players in assists & steals according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 (when available), and season averages, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ members, all active player stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Witty’s Fast Break Challenge:

In NBA Fast Break, how often you can use a player depends on the value of their moments—measured by average sale price. That system can put newer and/or smaller collectors at a disadvantage, limiting their ability to compete. This segment is designed to level the playing field, giving resourceful collectors a shot at rewards and proving that smart strategy can still win, even without a stacked collection.

Check back daily to see our lineup, adjustments along the way, and how we do with lineups that are capped to a single use per run.

Will be posted beginning tomorrow for Run 2.
