Sixers Surge, Cavs Control, Magic Win a Thriller

NBA Recap: February 24, 2026

76ers 135, Pacers 114

Philadelphia erased an early deficit and dominated the final three quarters behind a three‑headed scoring burst: Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, and Tyrese Maxey all topped 20. Maxey’s efficiency set the tone, and the Sixers’ pace overwhelmed a Pacers team missing Pascal Siakam. Indiana never mounted a meaningful push once the lead hit double digits.

Knicks 94, Cavaliers 109

Cleveland’s balance carried the night — all five starters scored in double figures, and the Cavs controlled the tempo from the second quarter on. New York’s offense sputtered in the third, managing just 11 points, and Jalen Brunson’s lower than usual 20 point outing contributed to the drought. Cleveland kept the Knicks at arm’s length throughout the fourth.

Mavericks 123, Nets 114

Dallas, still without Cooper Flagg, leaned on depth: six Mavericks reached double digits, keeping Brooklyn chasing all night. Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 26, but Dallas’ steady scoring and late‑game composure prevented any real threat to the lead.

Thunder 116, Raptors 107

Oklahoma City earned its 45th win of the season, continuing to roll despite Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander missing his eighth straight game. The Thunder controlled the second half with defense and timely shooting, keeping Toronto at bay whenever the Raptors made a push.

Wizards 98, Hawks 119

The story in Atlanta was the early exit: Jalen Johnson left after five minutes with a hip flexor injury. Even so, the Hawks dominated, stretching a double‑digit lead into a 36‑point cushion entering the fourth. Washington never found rhythm, and Atlanta coasted to a comfortable win.

Hornets 131, Bulls 99

A tight first half turned into a blowout after Charlotte detonated for a 42‑point third quarter. Seven Hornets scored in double figures, overwhelming Chicago’s thinner rotation. Matas Buzelis led the Bulls with 32, but it wasn’t nearly enough to counter Charlotte’s avalanche.

Heat 117, Bucks 128

Miami led entering the fourth, but Milwaukee flipped the game with a 32‑point final quarter and a 15‑point swing. The Bucks’ late surge erased the Heat’s control, turning a tight matchup into a decisive home win.

Warriors 109, Pelicans 113

New Orleans edged out Golden State behind Zion Williamson’s steady scoring and a strong defensive finish. The Warriors, playing without Stephen Curry, still had two double‑doubles (Gui Santos and Brandin Podziemski) and five players in double figures, but the Pelicans’ physicality sealed a narrow four‑point win.

Celtics 97, Suns 81

Phoenix’s offensive struggles continued — just 11 points in the third quarter and only two players in double figures. Colin Gillespie led them with 15, but Boston didn’t need much to close this out, even without Jaylen Brown. The Celtics controlled the pace and walked away with a low‑stress road win.

Timberwolves 124, Trail Blazers 121

One of the night’s most competitive games came down to the final minute. Anthony Edwards dropped 34, and Rudy Gobert’s 19 rebounds tilted the glass in Minnesota’s favor. Portland hung around all night, but the Wolves’ late‑game execution secured a narrow three‑point win.

Magic 110, Lakers 109

The nightcap delivered the closest finish. Paolo Banchero powered Orlando with 36 points and 10 rebounds, while Luka Dončić (22 points, 15 assists) and Deandre Ayton (21 points, 13 rebounds) kept the Lakers in it. LeBron James briefly put LA ahead with 26 seconds left, but Wendell Carter Jr.’s layup with six seconds remaining became the game‑winner as LeBron’s final three‑point attempt missed.

Fast Break Recap: Day 6

Out of the three iterations of Fast Break, only Historic reached 50%. Although Pro only saw 43% earn a win, Classic took the cake for worst win rate as only 35% walked away happy. Out of the five top players, only Anthony Edwards and Norman Powell achieved the needed 26 or more points. Between the two, Ant had the better performance, which earned him the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.

Out of the three underperformers, Austin Reaves had the worst night by a hair as his 18 points derailed many lineups. Frankly, Luka Doncic or Jalen Brunson’s lackluster performance also hindered many lineups. Depending on who wronged you the most, they are your collective Duds of the Day.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 7 of 13

Objective(s): 35 Assists & 5 Steals (7.0 AST & 1.0 STL)

Today you’ll need five (5) players who will accumulate 35.0 or more and 5.0 or more steals, which means each player will need to average 7.0 AST & 1.0 STL. The mix of these two objectives layered in with the lower number of players in action means today will be a difficult day. There are only a handful of players who can deliver in both categories, so you’ll likely need to rely on specialists to carry the day. Of course, your captain could play a vital role in your quest for a win.
