Pistons & Hornets Throw Down, Wolves Drop 138, Trail Blazers Blow Out 76ers

NBA Recap: February 9, 2026

Pistons 110, Hornets 104

Detroit leaned on Cade Cunningham’s 33 points to survive a chippy matchup that featured multiple ejections stemming from a scuffle involving Jalen Duren, Moussa Diabaté, Isaiah Stewart, and Miles Bridges . Charlotte kept pace behind Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel, and LaMelo Ball, each scoring 20+, but Detroit’s late‑game control and Cunningham’s shotmaking carried them across the finish line.

Bulls 115, Nets 123

Chicago and Brooklyn entered the fourth quarter tied, but the Nets made every winning‑time play to secure their 15th victory of the season. With Cam Thomas recently waived, Nic Claxton stepped into the void with 28 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring Brooklyn on both ends and closing out a tight one at Barclays Center.

Jazz 115, Heat 111

Utah found a way despite sitting all starters in the fourth. Seven Jazz players hit double figures, and the bench completely flipped the game’s rhythm. Miami couldn’t generate enough answers late, and Utah’s depth carried them to a road win that felt like a gut punch for the Heat (along with the Jazz coach and ownership).

Bucks 99, Magic 118

Milwaukee played without Giannis and Cam Thomas, leaving Kevin Porter Jr. to shoulder the load with 28 points. But Orlando’s third‑quarter burst — a 16‑point differential — broke the game open. Desmond Bane and Anthony Black powered the Magic with 25+ each, and Milwaukee never recovered from the avalanche.

Hawks 116, Timberwolves 138

Minnesota detonated for 81 first‑half points, turning the night into a scoring showcase. Anthony Edwards dropped 30, and seven of nine Wolves reached double figures. CJ McCollum’s 38 kept Atlanta afloat, but Minnesota’s pace and depth overwhelmed the Hawks from wire to wire.

Kings 94, Pelicans 120

A matchup with major implications for the top of the draft board turned into a New Orleans clinic. Sacramento was outscored in every quarter and posted the lowest total of the night. The Pelicans controlled the tempo, the glass, and the paint, leaving the Kings chasing shadows for 48 minutes and have big aspirations to receive the first overall pick.

Cavaliers 119, Nuggets 117

Cleveland stole one late in Denver, erasing multiple deficits in the second half. Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and James Harden all scored 22+, outdueling a Nuggets squad that had seven players in double figures, including a Nikola Jokić triple‑double and a Jamal Murray double‑double. The Cavs’ closing execution made the difference in one of the night’s tightest finishes.

Grizzlies 113, Warriors 114

Golden State authored the closest win of the night, erasing a double‑digit fourth‑quarter deficit. Memphis’ bench carried most of the scoring load with four players in double figures, but the Warriors countered with all five starters scoring 10+ (plus two bench contributors). No Warrior topped 17, but the collective effort was enough to steal it late.

Thunder 119, Lakers 110

Oklahoma City went into Los Angeles without Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander and still controlled the game into the fourth. The Lakers, also without Luka Dončić, leaned on Marcus Smart for scoring, but OKC’s depth and defensive pressure kept the outcome firmly in hand down the stretch.

76ers 118, Trail Blazers 135

Portland dropped 135 points, including 49 in the third quarter, to put this one out of reach. All five Philly starters scored in double figures, with Tyrese Maxey posting 30, but they couldn’t match Toumani Camara’s 30 or Deni Avdija’s near triple‑double as the Blazers ran away with the night’s biggest offensive outburst.

Fast Break Recap: Day 7

Classic bounced back in the win column as 43% walked away victorious (albeit it isn’t difficult to increase the win % considering it was 0% on Day 6). Donovan Mitchell led the way among the top 5 as he scored 32 points in a close win over the Nuggets. His performance earned him the Fast Break Stud of the Day award. On the other hand, Lauri was pulled in the fourth quarter (along with the other starters) and only contributed 17 points. Utah’s head coach (and ownership team) are your Fast Break Duds of the Day…but the Jazz still found a way to win against the Heat.

In the other iterations of Fast Break, only 30% in Pro earned a win compared to 61% in Historic.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 8 of 10

Objective(s): 40 Rebounds (8.0 REB)

Today you’ll need five (5) players who will gather 40.0 or more rebounds, which means each player will need to average 8.0 REB. This one is another straightforward objective and there are a number of players who excel in this category. The question, though, is whether you have the right players available considering the limited number of games on today’s slate. Your captain will ultimately play a major role in your success (or failure) today.

Top Player Options:

  • Glass Crashers: Karl-Anthony Towns, Victor Wembanyama, Ivica Zubac

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 40 Field Goals Made & 50 Field Goal Attempts (8.0 FGM & 10.0 FGA)

  • Objective(s) Remaining (after today): FGM, FGA, PITP, OREB

Considerations:

  • Twelve (12) teams have the most games remaining (2)

  • The remaining eighteen (18) have the least number of games remaining (1)

  • Six teams are playing the second game of a back-to-back tomorrow

  • Day 8 (today) and 10 have eight (8) or less teams in action

  • Dallas and Los Angeles Lakers are the only two teams not playing tomorrow (Day 9)

  • There is only one (1) days remaining with two non-correlated objectives

Statistical Approach:

Top players in rebounds according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 average, and season averages, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ members, all active player stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.
