NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 8 | Day 8

Philly Survives, Flagg Drops 49, Minnesota Undercuts OKC

NBA Recap: January 29, 2026

Philadelphia opened with a 113–111 win over Sacramento — the night’s closest finish. The Sixers controlled long stretches, but the Kings kept punching back until Philly finally closed with a pair of timely stops. Sacramento had a look to steal it, but the defense held.

Washington followed with a 109–99 win over Milwaukee — just their twelfth on the season, which is a back-breaking loss for a Bucks team that continues to reel and will likely lose their superstar either before the trade deadline or over the summer. Miami and Chicago delivered a tight, back‑and‑forth matchup, with the Heat escaping 116–113. Chicago was down by double digits at the half, but made a run for a come from behind win. They’ll see the Heat two more times in short order to avenge today’s loss.

Houston and Atlanta went into the half separated by one one point, but the second half was a different story as Houston pulled away from the Hawks and won 104–86. Charlotte produced the night’s biggest surprise, edging Dallas 123–121 on the road and spoiled Cooper Flagg’s 49 point, 10 rebound day. It was a battle of the two leading candidate for Rookie of the Year as Kon Knueppel delivered a 34 point showing, which was enough to win the day.

Phoenix handed Detroit just their twelfth loss on the season behind a 40 point day from Dillon Brooks. Their 16-point halftime lead was too much for the Pistons to overcome as they fell 114-96. Denver protected home court with a much needed 107–103 win over Brooklyn. As they continue to be without Nikola Jokic, they’re finding ways to win to hang around a crowded Western Conference.

Minnesota closed the slate with a 123–111 win over Oklahoma City, a statement performance built on pace, physicality, and a first quarter that put the Thunder immediately in a double digit hole. The Wolves’ balance carried the night, and OKC never found a counter as they suffered just their 11th loss on the season.
