NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 8 | Day 3
Knicks Grind One Out, Bulls Upset the Celtics, Miami Drops 147
NBA Recap: January 24, 2026
Charlotte opened with a 119–115 win over Washington, a game defined by pace and late‑game composure. The Hornets took a double digit lead into the final frame, but the Wizards closed the gap to two points with less than two minutes to play. Charlotte would go on to survive the late push thanks to clutch baskets.
Philadelphia had a similar outcome as New York took a double digit lead going into the fourth quarter. Like the Wizards, they could not get over the hump as New York beat the Sixers 112–109 on the road.
Cleveland delivered one of the night’s cleanest performances, beating Orlando 119–105 behind a balanced attack and a fourth quarter that broke the game open. The Cavs dictated tempo, controlled the glass, and never let the Magic find rhythm.
Chicago protected home court with a 114–111 win over Boston, a physical, possession‑by‑possession battle that swung on late execution. With the game tied with seconds to go, Kevin Huerter knocked down a clutch three-pointer. Boston would not be able to reciprocate with a second to go and the Bulls pulled out the upset win.
The Lakers produced one of the night’s most impressive rallies, beating Dallas 116–110 after trailing by double digits. L.A. tightened defensively, controlled the glass, and rode a dominant closing stretch to bring home a winner on home court.
Miami delivered the biggest offensive eruption of the night, hammering Utah 147–116 in a game that turned into a track meet. The Heat shot the lights out in every quarter, pushed pace relentlessly, and turned the second half into a showcase. With an 18-point second quarter, they were out of it by the half.
Fast Break Recap: Day 2
Day 2 of Fast Break did not have as much success as Day 1 for Classic and Pro as the former saw only 42% win and the latter only had 47% of participants win. However, Historic had another successful day as 93% earned a win.
Bam Adebayo had the best day out of the top five as he contributed 15 rebounds and 1 block. With his performance, he earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day award. Evan Mobley, on the other hand, had the lowest production out of the top five as he had 7 rebounds and 1 block. Although it wasn’t a big deficit, he still came up short of the minimum threshold with the biggest negative impact, which earned him the Fast Break Dud of the Day award.
