NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 7 | Day 11

Cavs Grind One Out, Knicks Dominate, Thunder Keep Rolling

NBA Recap: January 21, 2026

Cleveland opened with a 94–87 win in Charlotte, a low‑scoring grinder where the Cavs controlled the tone from the jump. Their defense set the pace, holding the Hornets to one of their coldest shooting nights of the month. Cleveland never fully pulled away, but they never let go of the rope either — a wire‑to‑wire, workmanlike road win.

Boston followed with a 119–104 win over Indiana, a game defined by the Celtics’ balance and control. They dictated tempo, won the glass, and leaned on steady scoring from all levels. Indiana made small pushes, but Boston’s half‑court execution kept the Pacers at arm’s length.

New York delivered the night’s most lopsided result, hammering Brooklyn 120–66 in a rivalry game that never felt competitive. Brooklyn did not score more than 20 points in any quarter including 10 points in the final frame and shot an abysmal 29.1% from the field.

Atlanta and Memphis produced one of the night’s tightest finishes, with the Hawks escaping 124–122 after a frantic final minute. Memphis pushed late, trimming a double‑digit deficit to one possession, but Atlanta’s last defensive stand sealed it.

Detroit were without Cade Cunningham in this one, but they kept its stranglehold in the East with a 112–104 win in New Orleans, a composed road performance where the Pistons controlled throughout and answered every Pelicans run. Their physicality and pace carried the night.

Oklahoma City delivered one of the clearest statements of the slate, beating Milwaukee 122–102 behind pace, spacing, and a defensive effort that tightened as the game wore on. The Thunder jumped out to a 20-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Toronto closed the night with a 122–109 win over Sacramento, a performance built on shot‑making and poise. The Kings held a 7-point lead at the half, but a 22-point differential in the 3rd quarter was the difference and the Raptors walked away with a win at home.

Fast Break Recap: Day 10

Day 10 saw another day where all three iterations fell short of 50% win rates as Classic had 46%, Pro saw 38%, and Historic only had 39% of collectors earn a win. All in all challenging day, which wasn’t entirely unexpected given the objectives.

Ja Morant was the Fast Break Stud of the Day with his 12 assists and 1 steal, which carried many to a win — especially if he was your Captain. Cade Cunningham’s late scratch led to chaos in finding a stand-in and also contributed to many losses.

Russell Westbrook, however, could only accumulate 3 assists, but he contributed 3 steals to help with one of the categories in a big way. His poor showing in assists earned him the Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 11 of 11

Objective(s): 50 Points in the Paint & 10 Offensive Rebounds (10.0 PITP & 2.0 OREB)

You’ll need five (5) players who will score 50.0 or more points in the paint and 10.0 or more offensive rebounds, which means each player needs to average 10.0 PITP & 2.0 OREB. Last day means you’ll need to set your best lineup possible based on your remaining players available in your collection. The former has more room for error, but the latter is burdensome if you focus too much on points in the paint. There are only a handful of players who are proficient in both categories and there are a number of players who excel in one specific category over the other. A healthy balance of both will lead you to a win.

Top Player Options:

  • Little of Both: Alperen Sengun, Joel Embiid, Nikola Vucevic

  • Inside Scorers: Kevin Durant, Paolo Banchero, Alperen Sengun, Julius Randle, Victor Wembanyama

  • (Offensive) Glass Crashers: Alperen Sengun, Ivica Zubac, Donovan Clingan, Rudy Gobert, Luke Kornet, Jusuf Nurkic

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: R. Gobert (51%) | J. Randle (46%) | A. Thompson (40%) | A. Sarr (34%) | A. Sengun (33%)
