NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 7 | Day 10

Toronto Drops 145, Lakers & Jazz Rally Late, Chicago Sinks the Clippers

NBA Recap: January 20, 2026

Phoenix opened with a 116–110 win in Philadelphia, one of the night’s closest games. The Suns controlled long stretches (especially the third quarter), but the Sixers kept pushing albeit never truly threatening to come back in this one. Houston did what the Sixers could not as they followed with a 111–106 win over San Antonio as they were able to erase a 12-point deficit going into the fourth quarter. An uncharacteristically low 14 point quarter spelled doom for the Spurs.

Chicago delivered the biggest blowout of the slate, hammering the Clippers 138–110 behind a scoring avalanche that never slowed — especially as the Clippers opted to rest their starters in the second game of a back-to-back. The Bulls shot the lights out sinking 14 three pointers in the first half and never looked back in the second.

Utah and Minnesota played one of the night’s most entertaining back‑and‑forth games, with the Timberwolves squandering a 12-point lead going into the fourth quarter after outscoring the Jazz by 13 points in the third. The Jazz would go on an early run and held on for a 127-122 win at home behind a career night by Keyonte George, who scored 43 points. Jusuf Nurkic also had a career night as he recorded his second ever triple-double.

The Lakers delivered the night’s most impressive rally, beating Denver 115–107 after trailing by double digits at the half. It was one of the Lakers’ most complete road wins of the month and may be the turning point to a rough stretch they had trouble beating bad teams. Denver being without Joker again was beatable and the Lakers figured out how to win for a change.

Toronto produced the highest scoring performance of the night, dropping 145 on Golden State in a 145–127 win that turned into a track meet. The Raptors’ offense was relentless: pace, spacing, and a barrage of threes including Immanuel Quickley’s 7 of 8 from outside (40 points total) that kept the Warriors chasing all night.

Miami closed the slate with a 130–117 win over Sacramento, a game defined by balance and shot‑making. The Heat owned the first half and the second was more of a formality and true contest. One glimmer of hope was Sabonis’s 10 rebounds in only 17 minutes on the floor. The double-double machine will be returning to the starting lineup soon, which may be the catalyst to a salvaged season.

Fast Break Recap: Day 9

Day 9 was irregular as Classic had a higher win rate (82%) than both Pro (30%) and Historic (41%).

Of the top five players in Classic, Luka Doncic made the most field goals (12 of 21), but Ant had the biggest contributions has he made 11 of 28 from the field. If either were your captain, they earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day award. On the other hand, Steph Curry was the most utilized player, but could only make 6 of 16 from the field. His less than stellar performance earned him the Fast Break Dud of the Day award.
