NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 7 | Day 9

OKC Erupts, Warriors Run Wild, Detroit Steals the Night

NBA Recap: January 19, 2026

Milwaukee opened with a 112–110 win in Atlanta, a possession‑by‑possession grinder that swung on late execution. Atlanta almost completed the come from behind victory, but Kuzma’s block on McCollum with three seconds to go sealed the win. Oklahoma City delivered the night’s loudest statement, rolling Cleveland 136–104 behind a blistering offensive rhythm. The Thunder pushed pace, spaced the floor, and turned the second half into a showcase — one of their cleanest performances of the month.

The Clippers followed with a closer than expected 110–106 win over Washington. The Wizards hung around, made their runs, and kept pressure on, but L.A.’s balance and half‑court execution carried the final minutes. Dallas handled New York 114–97, who continued to be without Brunson and are noticeably a lesser team as a result.

San Antonio continued its surge with a 123–110 win over Utah, leaning on pace and interior control. The Spurs dictated terms early, and Utah never fully recovered. Philadelphia protected home court with a 113–104 win over Indiana, a steady performance where the Sixers tightened defensively in the fourth and closed with authority.

Phoenix kept its momentum with a 126–117 win over Brooklyn, a game built on shot‑making and pace. The Nets made small pushes, but the Suns did not feel much pressure throughout. Detroit delivered the statement win of the night, edging Boston 104–103 in a defensive slugfest which sustained Detroit’s lead in the East.

Lastly, Golden State closed the slate with a 135–112 win over Miami, but was marred by Jimmy Butler’s season ending knee injury.

Fast Break Recap: Day 8

Day 8 was a return to mild success across the board as 70% of Classic lineups earned a win compared to 47% in Pro and 63% in Historic. KAT was the shining star as he accumulated 18 rebounds and a block, which earned him the Fast Break Stud of the Day award. Of the remaining four players, none had lower than eight rebounds, but Chet’s two blocks made up for it. This also means there were no Duds on the Day.
