Fast Break Recap: Day 4
Classic managers cashed at a 45% rate, Historic collectors came in at 85%, and Pro checked in at 32%.
Yesterday's classic objective was 50 points in the paint and 10 offensive rebounds — a dual-category threshold that heavily rewarded big men who live at the rim and hunt second chances.
Zion Williamson (88% utilization) posted 8 points in the paint with 0 offensive rebounds in New Orleans' 106-118 loss to Portland — present at the rim, but nothing on the offensive glass. Jarrett Allen (58%) contributed 10 points in the paint and 3 offensive rebounds in Cleveland's 118-111 road win at Golden State — a useful line on both categories in a winning game. Evan Mobley (58%) added 12 points in the paint and 2 offensive rebounds in that same Cleveland win — steady volume, but not the glass presence the objective demanded. Jalen Duren (58%) was the standout of the five: 14 points in the paint and 5 offensive rebounds in Detroit's 113-108 win over Minnesota, converting all 3 of his second-chance attempts. His offensive rebounding line was the most complete contribution of any player among the top five. Deandre Ayton (53%) finished with 8 points in the paint and 0 offensive rebounds in Oklahoma City's 139-96 blowout of the Lakers, exiting meaningful minutes early as the game turned into a rout before halftime.
Fast Break Stud of the Day: Jalen Duren — 14 points in the paint and 5 offensive rebounds in a winning effort. The latter covered 50% of the required objective, which proved challenging for many.
Fast Break Dud of the Day: Zion Williamson — 8 points in the paint and 0 offensive rebounds at 88% utilization which hindered many collectors as his was used heavily as a captain, which magnified the deficiencies.
