WNBA Fast Break Classic | 2025 Playoffs | Day 14
Today’s Objective(s): 15 Field Goals Made & 60 Points Scored
Overview:
At this point of the run, the only people who remain are those with legendary moments or those who opted to defer to later dates to increase their win odds. It also marks the possible final day of the 2025 WNBA season as the Las Vegas Aces are up 3 games to none. The Mercury almost pulled off the 4th quarter comeback, but their efforts came up short thanks to a game winner by the reigning MVP, A’ja Wilson. They’ll need to put in a more well-rounded effort if they have any intent and hopes of coming back in this series. If not, the Aces will add another championship to their mantle.
WNBA Recap: October 8th
A’ja Wilson’s Buzzer-Beater Lifts Aces in Game 3 Thriller (LVA 90, PHO 88)
Las Vegas took a commanding 3–0 lead in the WNBA Finals with a dramatic 90–88 win over Phoenix, sealed by A’ja Wilson’s turnaround jumper with 0.3 seconds left. Wilson finished with 34 points, 4 assists, and 11-of-20 shooting, continuing her dominant postseason run and setting a new WNBA playoff record with 291 total points across 11 games. The Aces led by 17 entering the fourth, but Phoenix stormed back—Kahleah Copper scored 17 (11 in the fourth), DeWanna Bonner dropped 25, and Satou Sabally added 24 before exiting late after a collision. Alyssa Thomas nearly posted a triple-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists. Jackie Young added 21 points for Vegas, while Jewell Loyd hit four threes in under two minutes off the bench to spark a first-quarter surge. Despite a 17–0 Aces run early and a 55–43 halftime lead, Phoenix clawed back to tie it twice in the final 90 seconds. But Wilson’s final shot—over both Thomas and Bonner—quieted the home crowd and put Vegas one win away from its third title in four years.
Fast Break Results: Day 13
Day 13 fell shy of the 50% mark, but just barely. A’ja Wilson was the most utilized player and delivered the highest output as she contributed 14 rebounds & 3 blocks. With her performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day. With a minimum of one day (and max of four), the goal for most is to achieve 8 wins. For those with the lineup availability, the run-based rewards are the goal. If your lineup options are limited, pick your spots for the remainder of the run, which could very well be today.
WNBA Finals: Best of Seven Series
Phoenix Mercury @ Las Vegas Aces | 8:00PM ET | 12:00PM UTC (Aces Lead 3-0)
Tonight the Las Vegas Aces can clinch their third WNBA championship in four seasons as they face the Phoenix Mercury in Game 4 of the Finals. A’ja Wilson is coming off a career-defining performance—34 points on 11-of-20 shooting, plus 4 assists and the go-ahead bucket in Game 3. She’s now the WNBA’s all-time leader in postseason 30-point games, with 8. Jackie Young added 21 points, and Chelsea Gray continues to steer the offense with precision.
Phoenix nearly stole Game 3 behind DeWanna Bonner’s 25 points, Satou Sabally’s 24, and Kahleah Copper’s 17, but couldn’t close the gap after trailing by 17 in the third quarter. Alyssa Thomas was one assist shy of a triple-double, and Sabally’s late-game injury adds uncertainty to tonight’s lineup. The Mercury shot 7-of-21 from three, but Vegas’s early 17–0 run and 56.3% shooting from deep proved too much.
If Wilson sets the tone again, the Aces could seal the sweep and the crown.
