WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 1 | Day 9
Today’s Objective(s): 25 Field Goals Made & 8 Three Pointers Made
Recap & Overview:
Fast Break Challenge Nears Its Final Stretch
With only three days remaining, this Fast Break run has proven to be one of the more challenging stretches. Six of the first eight days have seen success rates below 50%, with four days falling under 15% winners, leaving the majority of collectors scrambling for their fourth and fifth wins to qualify for the first-tier pack.
Through eight days, only two collectors have secured seven wins, with just 35 others reaching at least six wins. While the thresholds have been lower than usual, volatility in player performance, fewer daily games, and smaller WNBA collections have made securing wins difficult. The results emphasize the importance of having a well-balanced collection, particularly a mix of rares and legendaries, to sustain long-term success (especially as there will be nine more series this season, excluding the playoffs).
Pack Drop Incoming: Rookies & Signed Parallels
The first pack of the season is set to drop on May 28th, featuring impact rookies that can bolster your WNBA Fast Break collection. Excitingly, this pack will include signed parallels of rookie moments, marking a new milestone for NBA & WNBA Top Shot.
Mystics Nearly Stun the Aces in a Wild Finish
Heading into the season, Washington was viewed as a bottom-tier team facing a potential rebuild. Given those expectations, a Las Vegas blowout seemed inevitable—but the Mystics had other plans.
Rather than folding under pressure, Washington led the Aces by nine points entering the fourth quarter, holding onto a six-point advantage with just over a minute remaining. Then, Las Vegas stormed back, finishing on a 9-0 run, capped off by a game-winning dagger from newcomer Jewell Loyd, who joined the team in a blockbuster three-team trade involving the Aces, Sparks, and Storm.
Around the League: Key Wins & Struggles
Elsewhere, the Minnesota Lynx kept their undefeated streak alive, securing their fourth win, while Connecticut dropped its third straight game.
The Golden State Valkyrie notched their second win of their inaugural season, while the Los Angeles Sparks fell to 1-3 on the young campaign. Meanwhile, the Seattle Storm claimed their second victory, handing Phoenix its first loss of the season.
Fast Break Recap: A Slight Uptick in Success
Yesterday’s Fast Break objectives focused on points scored and offensive rebounds, leading to a 12% success rate—a significant improvement from the previous two days.
Napheesa Collier led the way, pouring in 33 points and securing four offensive rebounds for the 29% of collectors who started her, earning the Fast Break Star of the Day.
On the opposite end, Brittany Sykes was a late scratch, completely derailing the lineups of 30% of Fast Breakers who had her rostered. With zero minutes played, she earns the unfortunate title of Fast Break Dud of the Day.
Today’s Matchups: Liberty vs. Fever, Wings Seek First Win
Two games headline tonight’s schedule:
New York Liberty vs. Indiana Fever: A marquee showdown that will serve as an early test for whether Indiana is ready to compete for a championship this season.
Dallas Wings vs. Atlanta Dream: The Wings are still searching for their first win, but they’ll have a tough challenge ahead against Atlanta.
With an early tip-off for both games, collectors should plan accordingly and adjust their lineups if they haven’t already.
Today’s Objective(s):
WNBA Fast Break Day 9 requires five (5) players who will make 25.0 or more field goals and sink 8.0 or more three pointers, which means each player will need to average 5.0 FGM & 1.4 3PM. Caitlin Clark is the go-to option, but she’s also a cost prohibitive option if you don’t already have one of her moments from last season. She’ll inevitably have more moments this season, but most will need to rely on alternative options.
Little of Both: Caitlin Clark, Arike Ogunbowale, Kelsey Mitchell
Walking Buckets: Caitlin Clark, Arike Ogunbowale, Kelsey Mitchell, Breanna Stewart
Outside Snipers: Rhyne Howard, Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu, Arike Ogunbowale, Kelsey Mitchell
Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: B. Stewart (59%), K. Mitchell (56%), J. Jones (34%), R. Howard (34%), A. Gray (25%)

Tome Collective’s WNBA Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Build-out in process, but is going slower than expected due to data irregularities. It’ll be ready by at least the next run at this rate. Here’s our lineup today though. We fell short yesterday again (as did the majority of Fast Breakers), but there’s a higher probability of earning our 4th win today. We need two more to secure the 5-win pack.
