NBA Fast Break Run 12 | Day 2
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 5 Offensive Rebounds & 35 Points in the Paint to earn your win.
Recap & Overview:
NBA Top Shot moments on OpenSea2 (OS2) is the big news of the day, which is a highly utilized marketplace that may expand the audience and reach to NFT-friendly collectors, but not necessarily the “main stream” audience - at least not yet. Until then, this is new place where moments can be bought and sold, so that’s one more place you’ll want to check for deals for Fast Break lineup options, completion of sets, and/or grail moments…but “Grails on OS2” doesn’t have as nice as ring to it as “Grails on Flowty” does.
Day 1 produced 93% winners as the threshold was low and most surpassed the objective comfortably. Out of the top five players utilized, Jimmy Butler was one of two players who reached double figures in assists, so he is your Fast Break Stud of the Day. The remaining five players contributed where they needed, so we don’t have a clear Dud (aka the scapegoat) to fuel our wrath of a poor result. In the waning days of the previous run, we had over 100 who were on track for a perfect record, but we landed at 15 total. Higher than prior runs, but much lower than how it was trending even as late as Day 11. Time will tell how Run 12 shapes out.
If you’re looking for a challenge, the Pro mode is where you can earn higher rewards, but with 1) different objectives and 2) an additional knock-out factor for available players in your lineup. As is the case with the Classic run, be sure to plan ahead, fill gaps in your lineup on your preferred marketplace, and maximize your overall standing. Most participants will have a difficult time placing high in the standings, but setting a lineup each day (even with a loss) could be the difference where you earn some rewards for your trouble.
If you are a tome+ subscriber, you have access to a dedicated article for Pro Mode. Although it (currently) lists all players for the objectives for the day, we are solving for this layer so you’re able to select the best players available based on projections & last 10. This will simplify your lineup selection process should you need the resource. While we’re on the topic of lineups, let’s dig into today’s projections to help you set your Classic lineup.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 2 requires five (5) players who will score 35.0 or more points in the paint and accumulate 5.0 or more offensive rebounds, which means your lineup will need to average 7.0 PIP & 1.0 OREB per player. These two objectives are often correlated, so there are plenty of players who can help you get both stats. It also gives you the opportunity to move down the list of your players so you aren’t using all your best players (if you need them for another day).
Little of Both: Alperen Sengun, Nikola Jokic, Zion Williamson, Bam Adebayo, Karl-Anthony Towns, Pascal Siakam, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Isaiah Hartenstein, Jalen Duren
(Offensive) Glass Crashers: Donovan Clingan, Rudy Gobert, Jonas Valanciunas, Jalen Duren, Zach Edey, Nikola Jokic, Wendell Carter, Alperen Sengun, Kyle Filipowski, Steven Adams
Inside Scorers: Zion Williamson, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Alperen Sengun, Kevin Durant, Franz Wagner, Karl-Anthony Towns, Paolo Banchero, Cade Cunningham, DeMar DeRozan
Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: A. Sengun (74%), R. Gobert (56%), K. Towns (53%), Z. Williamson (41%), J. Duren (28%)
Pro Mode Limitations: Rookie Year
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow, 10 3PM & 20 3PA will be the two objectives; 10 teams in action
Objectives frequency (after today):
3x: PIP
2x: PTS, AST, BLK, 3PM, 3PA, FGM, OREB
1x: FGA
Considerations:
Six (6) teams have the least number of games remaining (5)
Eight (8) teams the most number of games remaining (8)
Cleveland is playing the tail-end game of a back-to-back today
Day 3 & 5 have the least number of teams in action (10 or less), so your lineup options will be more limited on these days
Day 2 & 4 have the most teams in action (20+), so your lineup options will be the most expansive
Denver & Utah last game this run lands on Day 11
8 of 12 days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)
Assists minus turnovers & +/- are not included as objectives continue to be MIA; Steals is not included this run either
Pro mode has a different limitation each day; it also has different objectives compared to Classic
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected offensive rebounds & points in the paint according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.
